Black corundum is a gray-black crystal with Al2O3 and iron spinel as the main ore phase, which is made of high alumina bauxite, high iron bauxite or iron oxide scrap, which is melted and smelted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace and then cooled. . Its main chemical composition is aluminum oxide (Al2O3), ferric oxide (Fe2O3), and some silicon dioxide (SiO2), titanium dioxide (TiO2) and other components. The black corundum production process determines that the production power consumption is lower than that of brown corundum, and the emission is small. It is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective abrasive product.

Black corundum abrasives are traditionally used for surface treatment of various workpieces such as sandblasting, grinding, polishing, etc., especially for the polishing of stainless steel workpieces. The surface of the stainless steel workpiece polished by black corundum is uniform and uniform, showing the essence of stainless steel. Gloss, no trace of burns, high value. In the past ten years, the research on the application of black corundum has been gradually deepened and applied more widely. It has been found that black corundum is compounded with other abrasives with high hardness and durability, and the performance of the manufactured abrasive tools is more excellent.

The following is a brief introduction to the specific method of making resin abrasives from black corundum composite abrasives. Here, the resin grinding tool refers to a resin grinding wheel, a resin cutting piece, a resin grinding piece, an ultra-thin slice, etc., which are made of a resin as a bonding agent, and other resin abrasive products can be produced by referring to this example, and the compounding ratio is generally Black corundum accounts for 30%-50%. Black corundum composite brown corundum is used to make cutting sheets. It has been successfully developed by the experimental research and development institutions of international and domestic famous resin cutting sheet manufacturers and the research and development center of Henan Yuda New Material Technology Co., Ltd. more than ten years ago. There are dozens of manufacturers including famous companies at home and abroad.

Taking a black corundum composite brown corundum resin cutting piece as an example, a first-class brown corundum is used to produce a 400 mm resin cutting piece, and the first-class brown corundum particle size is #24, #30, #36 each 35%, 35%, 30%. When using black corundum composite first grade brown corundum, the first grade brown corundum abrasive can be adjusted to #24, #30, #36 each 30%, 25%, 15%, increase black corundum #24, #30, #36 each 5 %, 10%, 15%, plus 5% of all abrasives #70 or #80 black corundum. The key principle of the composite is that the coarsest particle size of the first-grade brown corundum used is replaced by a small or unused black corundum. The slightly fine-grained first-class brown corundum is replaced by more black corundum, and the specific ratio can be determined experimentally.

Due to the differences in the processes, accessories, and product uses of the various cutting chip manufacturers, the above ratios are for reference only. If you use brown corundum secondary sand, you can directly replace the second-class brown corundum with 30%-50% black corundum of the total abrasive. All the results of the test are used as the basis for judging.

It should be noted that the above examples are only a reference scheme. In practice, other abrasive materials such as calcined brown corundum, single crystal corundum, silicon carbide, etc. can be used to find a suitable black corundum composite ratio to realize the product. The performance is better and the cost is lower. The non-working surface of the resin grinding disc can all use black corundum.

The problem that may occur in the test of using the black corundum composite brown corundum to make the resin cutting piece is that it can not be moved. This can reduce the hardness of some cutting pieces by adjusting the bonding agent and auxiliary materials; if it is consumed too fast and not durable, it can pass Adjusting the bonding agent, auxiliary materials, etc. to increase the hardness of the cutting piece.

Advantages and disadvantages of using black corundum composite brown corundum to make resin cutting sheets:

1. Because black corundum is a kind of abrasive specially produced, compared with secondary products such as secondary brown corundum, its performance stability is good, and product quality stability can be better guaranteed;

2, good sharpness and high cutting efficiency;

3. The cut has a high degree of smoothness and a slight discoloration;

4, feel good when cutting operation, very stable;

5, large section added 5% #70 or #80 black corundum can make the surface of the slice more flat, also has a certain cutting effect;

6, the cost is low, the price of black corundum is about 40% lower than that of the first grade brown corundum, and the composite abrasive can greatly reduce the product cost;

7. The disadvantage is that the durability is slightly reduced, which can be partially compensated by increasing the hardness.
